Medication

Medication

Parents need to inform Front Office staff and teachers of the medication their child is taking. Duffy Primary strongly discourages students keeping medications in the classroom or in their school bags. Medication needs to be clearly labelled (name, dose, times for administering). Written authority is required from parent/carer for the First Aid Officers to administer medications and a written statement from the student's doctor is also required for prescription medications. All medications are stored securely by the Front Office staff. Responsibility for collecting medications rests with the parent. For further information go to the Directorate policy on Administering Medication at Education and Training Directorate website.
