Physical Education and Sport

The role of Physical Education and Sport is:

  • to provide enjoyable physical activity as part of a whole school program and to foster positive attitudes towards it
  • to provide opportunity for children to broaden their sporting interests
  • to provide basic skills in areas of physical activities
  • to encourage co-operation, positive participation and a balanced attitude to competitiveness

Duffy Primary School offers a variety of sport clinics, gross motor rotations and co-operative games.

Sports Houses

Students are allocated to a 'house' for special events and carnivals throughout their time at Duffy Primary. Houses are named after famous Australian sporting identities.

Athletics, swimming and cross country carnivals are held each year. Visiting coaches enhance skills development in sports such as cricket, soccer, basketball, netball and gymnastics.
