Community Celebrations held at Duffy Primary

Grandparents Day

Grandparents and senior members of our community greatly enrich the lives of children. Each year the school invites grandparents to morning tea where the children perform to, sing with and socialize with our senior citizens. Over the past few years we have held the grandparents morning tea on the same day as Learning Journeys to enable grandparents from interstate to attend both of these special events.

Community BBQ

Each year in first term the P&C hold a welcome BBQ for new and returning families.

Trivia Night

The Annual Trivia Night is the social highlight of the year. Funds raised go towards a school identified project.

School Fete

The school fete is held in spring and is a popular event for the whole local community.

Parent involvement in the learning program

There are many ways parents can support the school and become involved in their child’s education:

assisting with reading / literacy programs
assisting in the library resource centre
assisting with art and craft activities
assisting with sporting programs
preparing aids / making materials for educational games
helping in the canteen
being involved with the Board or the P&C
